​Touch Connection® is the art of creating deep connection with a horse through stillness, presence, conscious breathing and the lightest physical touch. It is a unique method for creating deep contact between horse and human through touch meditation. A quiet conscious touch without pressure. Through the touch of presence, stillness and energy. A deep touch where breathing, intention and light touch create a magical contact on a level beyond words and signals. The relationship with the horse is built on presence, respect and a language that is not expressed in words, but felt through the skin, through the heart and soul, and through the breath.

The method has its historical origins in an ancient relationship-based culture from the Mediterranean area, where women had great influence in society. All horse handling took place in harmony on a holistic approach through touch and mutual respect. In 2013, I began studies for an American master's in this tradition, and immersed myself in its philosophy and history through both theory and practice. With my own ideas, I developed a form that combines the old traditional feeling and wisdom with the understanding of the language of horses. I developed it in my own work with horses in Sweden where the horse is started free from the beginning. Touch Connection® is the foundation of my concept Relationship based Art of Riding® with the help of the lightest touch, The Art of Lightness - feeling of touch.

Touch Connection® begins with stillness and presence here and now with the horse. A touch that begins with energy, flows with the breath and grows into a shared state of presence between horse and human. With this soft touch, it builds trust and energy exchange into a magical connection that later invites the horse to move and develops the help like the waves of the ocean.

Touch Connection® Deep Touch Meditation, a method for deep contact with the horse through quiet, conscious touch, without pressure or coercion, where human and horse share breathing and presence in a mutual energy connection that feels magical.

Touch Connection® is based on an ancient relationship-based culture from the Mediterranean region, where horse handling was done with soft touch and in respect for the horse's natural rhythm and presence. The unique thing about Touch Connection® is that I have further developed and adapted this ancient wisdom to my training program by starting the relationship with the horse free via the horses' own herd rituals, further to work by hand and bitless riding art without pressure or coercion. I have integrated this into the art of riding that is characterized as Relationship Based Art of Riding®, which is a proprietary form that is protected as a trademark. My philosophy combines stillness, energy work and touch meditation to create a deep connection with the horse and develops the aids for riding through touch. Feeling of touch.

Definition – What is Touch Connection®?
Touch Connection® is not just a technique, but a living dialogue in silence.
We stand side by side with the horse, without asking it for anything, without demands.
My hand rests softly on the horse’s skin, not to control, but to listen.
We breathe together.
We follow each other’s rhythm.
The touch is light, supple and carries a feeling of the soft movement of waves.
There is no pressure here, no concession, no commands.
It is in this moment that the magic occurs, a deep contact that feels as if time stands still.

Purpose and development
In the beginning it is just about being, still, present, listening.
But over time Touch Connection® can develop into something more.
From stillness we can follow the horse into movement.
The aids then arise not from control, but from consensus.
We move as if we shared one and the same body.
That is what I call ‘Feeling of Touch’, and it is the heart of what I also describe as The Art of Lightness.

 

Why it's unique
What makes Touch Connection® unique is that it's not just another exercise - it's the

foundation. It's a gateway into the world of the horse, where our touch is both

language, listening and collaboration. Everything else can be built on top of it - riding,

groundwork, movement, but without leaving presence and softness. Touch

Connection® is a structured and progressive method of horse communication that

aims to develop deep connection between horse and human through conscious

touch, presence and feeling.
